A viennese musician, was born in Teheran 1977 in an Artist's family. He was discovered and supported by the Austrian conductor and composer Professor Thomas Christian David as he conducted the Teheran Youth Chamber Orchestra in Iran and during his participation as soloist (performing Viola Concerto of Georg Philipp Telemann). Prof. David supported him to come to Vienna at he age of sixteen to continue his Studies in Vienna with Professor Klaus Peisteiner (principal violist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and violist of the Vienna String Quartet).
Taha Abedian has studied with Prof. Klaus Peisteiner at the Conservatory in Wiener Neustadt in lower Austria from 1994 to 2003. He also took Conducting and Composition lessons with Professor Thomas Christian David. During his Studies he was kindly supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.In year 1996 he won the 1st Prize of the International Viola Competition in Muscia, Spain.
Free collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Vienna State Opera Orchestra since year 2000, including world tours, audio/video Recordings and Broadcastings. 2003-2006, Principal violist of the Grazer Symphonisches Orchester a.o. under direction of Maestro Milan Horvat.
Debut with ABEDIAN STRING TRIO at Carnegie hall in New York, USA (November 2011).
He has participated in Master classes of Professor Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartet), Professor Hans Peter Ochsenhofer (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) and Professor Ilsee Winsor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. More Info under www.tahaabedian.com
